Este Congreso, sirvo como miembro de mayor rango del Comité de Recursos Naturales de la Cámara de Representantes y soy miembro principal del Comité de Educación y Fuerza Laboral.
Es una misión de toda mi vida garantizar que cada niño reciba la educación de clase mundial que merece, independientemente de su código postal, estado migratorio o barreras lingüísticas.
Inversiones más fuertes en nuestras escuelas públicas, aumentar el aprendizaje y la capacitación técnica, y hacer que la educación superior sea más asequible y accesible son algunas de las formas en que podemos ayudar a nuestra economía nacional.
Presidente del Comité de Recursos Naturales
En 2018, fui elegido Presidente del Comité de Recursos Naturales y durante mi presidencia, llevé la acción climática, la justicia ambiental, los asuntos indígenas y la descolonización de los territorios de los Estados Unidos a la vanguardia del escenario político nacional. Siguiendo más de 100 proyectos de ley de mi comité se convirtieron en ley en la última sesión, y aunque los republicanos controlan la Cámara ahora. Por lo que tengo la intención de trabajar igual de duro para fortalecer las protecciones ambientales en este Congreso.
También me dedico a proteger y expandir el Seguro Social, Medicare y el acceso a atención médica asequible. Apoyo salarios dignos, créditos fiscales ampliados para familias trabajadoras y la creación de oportunidades de vivienda asequible. Por lo tanto, las voces que no se escuchan en Washington, DC, son mi prioridad.

Gran distrito

I’m Raúl Grijalva and I have the privilege to represent the 7th Congressional District in the United States Congress.
Our people are facing real challenges as working families struggle to provide for their families and communities. Institutions that have traditionally helped people are threatened by budget cuts instead of investing in people and their future.
We have much work before us. Now more than ever, we need to advocate for public education, a fair immigration system, defend Social Security, work for just environmental policies, and make sure all communities have the same opportunities.
Ensure that every child receives the world-class education
This Congress, I serve as Ranking Member of the House Natural Resources Committee and am a senior member of the Education and Workforce Committee. It’s a lifelong mission of mine to ensure that every child receives the world-class education they deserve—regardless of their zip code, immigration status, or language barriers.
Stronger investments in our public schools, increasing apprenticeships and technical training, and making higher education more affordable and accessible are some of the ways we can help our national economy.
Chair of the Natural Resources Committee
In 2018, I was elected Chair of the Natural Resources Committee and during my chairmanship, I brought climate action, environmental justice, Indigenous affairs, and the decolonization of U.S. Territories to the forefront of the national political stage. More than 100 bills from my committee were signed into law last session, and while the Republicans control the House now, I intend to work just as hard to strengthen environmental protections this Congress.
I am also dedicated to protecting and expanding Social Security, Medicare, and access to affordable health care. I support livable wages, expanded tax credits for working families and creating affordable housing opportunities. The voices not heard in Washington, DC, are my priority.
For those who live in the newly drawn 7th Congressional District, it is anchored in Tucson and spans throughout southern Arizona and includes the communities of San Luis, Somerton, Yuma, Nogales, Tolleson, Bisbee and Douglas.
Our district is very large geographically
Our district is very large geographically and has the entire Arizona-Mexico border and borderland communities. The population within the district is predominantly working families. The 7th Congressional District is also home to four sovereign Tribal nations: the Cocopah, Pascua Yaqui, Quechan, and Tohono O’odham.

I have served this district in the US Congress since 2003 and will continue to serve the residents with the best constituent services our office can provide, offering assistance with any federal agency, including immigration, passport services, Veterans services, and Social Security.

Serving as your representative for Arizona’s 7th Congressional District continues to be one of the great privileges of my life. I am beyond proud of the unique landscapes, diverse communities, strong cultural identities, and resilient people that have long defined Southern Arizona.
