Thanksgiving is the time of year, when we reflect on all the blessings that we have received and continue to receive. We are thankful for our families, our homes, good health, our friends and our community.
It is time to renew our faith in family, help one another and to meet everyday challenges by working together. Like I’ve always said, we don’t point fingers, scapegoat and place blame, we roll up our sleeves and solve the challenges at hand.
During these challenging times, we need to rely more on our families and one another.
We need to continue to practice the guidelines that the CDC and Pima County Health Department has issued about COVID-19 and the flu, we should overcome these challenges.
Covid-19 in Thanskgiving
The COVID-19 pandemic continues and the number of cases and positive COVID tests are increasing in our City and in Pima County. We need to continue to practice social distancing, wearing masks, washing your hands with soap and water, avoid crowded areas and cleaning frequently, sanitizing touched surfaces and objects, daily. If you are sick, please stay home.
Senior citizens need to avoid crowded places, stay at home when as much as possible, limiting close contact with others, especially those who may be sick, and clean frequently touched surfaces and objects daily.
Keep your Nanas and Tatas, Tíos and Tías and our children safe in Thanksgiving.
We have lost too many loved ones to COVID-19 and we must not let our guard down with this now. I’ve been across our state and have seen other communities not practicing social distancing, wearing masks and gathering in crowded areas, something we can’t do now.
Until we have a vaccine or treatment, we must all work together, to protect ourselves from COVID-19 and not become another statistic during this pandemic. I want you to Be Safe and Stay Healthy!
Also, I want to thank everyone who filled out your 2020 U.S. Census forms, which helps our community to be heard and be counted.
