Rio Rico, Az.- Saúl ‘Canelo’ Álvarez (59-2-2, 39 KO’s) logró lo que quería, lucirse en su tierra, Jalisco, y ante sus paisanos mexicanos, al derrotar al inglés John Ryder (32-6-0, 18 KO’s) para retener sus cuatro cinturones de campeón supermediano(CMB,OMB,AMB,FIB) en el estadio Akron, hogar del equipo de fútbol Chivas de Guadalajara.

Se tuvo que esperar casi 12 años para el retorno a casa del hijo pródigo que se llevó las tarjetas de los jueces 120-107, 118-109 y 118-109, en una pelea llena de intercambios, donde el británico mostró gallardía y mandíbula de acero para aguantar la artillería del púgil local que buscó todo el tiempo el nocaut.
Álvarez no había peleado en México desde su victoria de noviembre de 2011 sobre Kermit Cintrón en la Ciudad de México.

Rio Rico, Az.- Saúl ‘Canelo’ Álvarez (59-2-2, 39 KO’s) achieved what he wanted, to shine in his homeland, Jalisco, and before his Mexican countrymen, by defeating Englishman John Ryder (32-6- 0, 18 KO’s) to retain his four super middleweight champion belts (WBC, WBO, WBA, IBF) at the Akron stadium, home of the Chivas de Guadalajara soccer team.

They had to wait almost 12 years for the return home of the prodigal son who took the judges’ cards 120-107, 118-109 and 118-109, in a fight full of exchanges, where the British showed gallantry and jaw of steel to withstand the artillery of the local fighter who sought the knockout all the time.
