¡Somos Uno!
Queridos Tucsonenses,
Nos sentimos muy emocionados de anunciarles que ya publicamos nuestro INFORME SOBRE CULTURA. Invito a que todos revisen el trabajo que estamos haciendo para celebrar y preservar la identidad cultural única de Tucson.
Gracias a todos los que nos acompañaron anoche en el ayuntamiento virtual de ¡Somos Uno! Habrá un video disponible para aquellos que no pudieron estar presentes en el evento. Fue muy alentador ver a tantos miembros de nuestra comunidad participar de manera tan apasionada, dedicando parte de su tiempo para asistir a este evento y hablar sobre la situación actual de la cultura en Tucson, el futuro del valioso patrimonio, así como las artes y la vida cultural.
Esta iniciativa significa más que solo honrar nuestro pasado. Es dar forma de manera activa al futuro. Al preservar la historia, el patrimonio, las artes y la cultura de Tucson, nos aseguramos de que estos aspectos vitales de nuestra comunidad sigan creciendo y prosperando. Nuestros activos culturales, incluyendo la vida artística, así como las ricas tradiciones culinarias, pues nuestra Tucson figura en la lista de Ciudades con Creatividad Gastronómica reconocidas por la Unesco, juegan un papel central a todo lo que contribuye a que nuestra ciudad sea única. Al organizar y amplificar estos activos, estamos creando oportunidades para el crecimiento económico, fomentando la cohesión social e inculcando un sentido más profundo de orgullo en nuestra comunidad.
Uno de los aspectos más importantes de ¡Somos Uno! son los datos que hemos recopilado por medio del Informe sobre Cultura. Estos datos muestran claramente que Tucson siempre supera las expectativas, porque queremos organizarnos y celebrar quiénes somos.
El alcance económico y social de nuestros sectores culturales nos permitirá tomar decisiones con base en información, y a fortalecer nuestro patrimonio de maneras significativas. Las industrias de las artes y la cultura de Tucson contribuyen significativamente a nuestra economía local, y los conocimientos que obtengamos de este informe nos ayudarán a implementar estrategias para apoyar a estas industrias a largo plazo.

We are so excited to share that the STATE OF CULTURE REPORT is now public. I encourage everyone to explore the work we’re doing to celebrate and preserve Tucson’s unique cultural identity.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for last night’s ¡Somos Uno! virtual townhall. We will be sharing out the recording if you were not able to join us live. It was inspiring to see so many passionate community members take time of their day to come together to discuss the State of Culture and the future of Tucson’s rich heritage, arts, and cultural scene.
This initiative is about more than just honoring our past; it’s about actively shaping the future. By preserving Tucson’s history, heritage, arts, and culture, we’re ensuring that these vital aspects of our community continue to grow and thrive. Our cultural assets, from our vibrant arts scene to our rich culinary traditions as a UNESCO City of Gastronomy, play a central role in what makes our city unique. By organizing and amplifying these assets, we are creating opportunities for economic growth, fostering social cohesion, and instilling a deeper sense of pride in our community.
One of the most important aspects of ¡Somos Uno! is the data we’ve gathered through the State of Culture report. This data clearly shows Tucson continually punches above their weight when it comes to our culture because we want to organize and celebrate who we are.
The economic and social impact of our cultural sectors will allow us to make informed decisions and strengthen our heritage in meaningful ways. Tucson’s arts and culture industries contribute significantly to our local economy, and the insights we gain from this report will help us implement strategies to support these industries long into the future.
